  • Mountain Home Air Force Base will be replacing the Logistics Readiness Center facility at a cost of  about $20 million.
Idaho Sen. Larry Craig said he received assurances from the U.S. Air Force that the construction will be in the Air Force budget for fiscal year 2010 , according to KTVB.

The conditions of the Base’s Logistics Readiness Center, which was condemned in the late 1990s, was dire, according to the senator's website.

  • Curtis Massood, owner of Canyon Outdoor Media, was honored with the  2008 Max Dalton Open Government Award sponsored by the Idaho Newspaper Foundation.
According to the Mountain Express, Massood earned the award and cash prize of $2,000 for his successful lawsuit against Ada County in which a judge said the county's e-mail storage system made it inaccessible for the average citizen. Massood has donated the prize to The Shepherd's Home, a children's group shelter in McCall.
