A Texas developer announced plans today to bring a $97 million retirement community to the Boise foothills.
Over the next three years, Greystone Communities plans to bring 157 independent living residences and 12 single-story cottages to 12.6 acres on Harris Ranch. The community, called Boise Retirement Community, will include opportunities and facilities for on-site full-service health care at a reduced cost, including long-term care.
“As people live longer there is more likelihood that there will be a need for long-term care,” BRC director of sales and marketing Julie Conrad said in a release. “The added benefit of being a life care community is that we are in place to help residents understand how to secure their future and protect their estates. If unplanned, long-term care can rapidly deplete the value of an estate, leaving less for a surviving spouse or family. Thankfully with life care an individual or couple has the option to plan accordingly.”
The community will include a fitness center, multiple dining venues, a library and media room, an art studio, a business center and regularly scheduled transportation.
