At an Ada County Board of Commissioners meeting Wednesday night, the board approved the 680-acre Cartwright Ranch planned community, an addition to the existing Hidden Springs development. The development will contain 620 homes, 20,000 square feet of commercial space and 473 acres of open space.

The county set forth more than 40 conditions that the developer must meet before it can receive building permits, including requirements for public service mitigation and wildlife preservation.

The developers have been planning the project since 2005 and submitted an application to the county in 2006. Planning and Zoning approved the development in March of this year, and the commissioners held public hearings in May and June.
