National outdoor retailer The North Face is expecting to a new store in downtown Boise.

The 8,665-square-foot store will cover two floors in the Mode Building on eighth and Idaho.

“We identified The North Face as an ideal tenant for the Mode Building some time ago,” Baum Realty Group’s Adam Secher said in a release. “They are a highly sought-after national brand and highly selective when it comes to retail site locations. … Their decision to open a store in Boise further enhances this town’s reputation as a vibrant retail destination.”

The North Face, based in San Leandro, Calif., currently has 21 retail stores across the United States. BRG, headquartered in Chicago, represented the landlord in the transaction and will work with the retailer to achieve LEED certification for their space.

The store is expected to open sometime in the fourth quarter of 2008.
